3.Project Brief
The Hard Facilities Management exists to ensure implementation of the maintenance projects in all health facilities belonging to Ministry of Health (MoH), Christian Health Association of Lesotho (CHAL), Maseru City Council (MCC) and Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS). This intervention is aimed at ensuring that infrastructure in all heath are facilities is maintained in accordance with the standard. There is a total of 155 Health Centres, Bots’abelo Complex and 17 Hospitals countrywide.
Hard Facilities Management (HFM) has four (4) projects divided into two (2) divisions as follows;

4.Building, Water and Plumbing (BWP)-Project Package
The purpose of Buildings, Water and Plumbing maintenance services is to provide maintenance and restore functionality of hard amenities within health facilities and to ensure supply of safe, reliable, adequate water essential for good health, promoting sanitation and hygiene. One Hundred and Fifty Five Health Centres, Seventeen Hospitals and the Botsabelo Complex are maintained under this package.
5.Electricity Services Maintenance and Repairs (ES)-Project Package
The Electrical Services Maintenance component is meant to provide a steady, reliable, and well-maintained electrical power system in all health facilities through solar powered (Solar Photovoltaic) and national power grid systems. One Hundred and Fifty Five Health Centres, Seventeen Hospitals and the Botsabelo Complex are maintained under this package.
6.Medical Equipment (ME)-Project Package
This function is meant to manage a medical equipment maintenance system that is able to keep x-ray systems, anaesthetic equipment, laboratory equipment, dental equipment, diagnostic sets, and other medical equipment in health facilities reliable; safe and available for use when it is needed for diagnostic procedures, therapy, treatments and monitoring of patients. One Hundred and Fifty Five Health Centres, Seventeen Hospitals and the Botsabelo Complex are maintained under this package.
7.General Equipment and Furniture Maintenance and Repair (GEFMR)-Project Package
The aim of the service is to provide operational and reliable general equipment and furniture maintenance for the health facilities, readily available for use at all times. One Hundred and Fifty Five Health Centres, Seventeen Hospitals and the Botsabelo Complex are maintained under this package.
